Look Ive got this huge corporate gig in Seattle in literally two weeks and Im panicking slightly because my current setup just isnt hitting the level of clinical sharpness I need for these 60MP files. Ive spent hours on forums reading about the 50mm APO-Summicron-SL and the reviews say its basically perfect but then other guys are saying the Lumix S Pro 50mm 1.4 is actually just as sharp in the center and I cant figure out who to believe. Is the Leica APO truly that much better or is it just the name? I need something thats going to make peoples skin texture look like its right there in front of you.
- Must be L-mount prime
- Maximum sharpness for portraits
- Budget: Trying to stay under $4500 if possible, can buy used
- Timeline: Need it by next Friday for the shoot
- Lens weight: I dont care if its heavy as long as the eye-AF is fast
Im also looking at the Sigma 85mm f1.4 DG DN Art since its way cheaper but Im worried it wont have that Leica look people pay for. Does the Sigma actually hold up against the APO lenses when it comes to raw resolving power? Im losing sleep over this decision because I dont want to drop 5k on a lens and then realize the Lumix or Sigma was better for pure sharpness...
