Honestly so fed up with my kit lens right now. I have a trip to Iceland coming up in three weeks and every time I try to get a decent landscape shot on my 90D it just feels way too tight. Its driving me crazy because I dont have time to waste on bad photos there. Im working with a budget of about 600 bucks and really need something reliable that actually fits the whole view without looking distorted. Does anyone have a solid wide-angle recommendation that wont break the bank but still gives me sharp results? Im getting really anxious about not having the right gear before I leave...

Jumping in here to say dont stress too much about the gear. I went to Iceland back in 2019 and honestly, the weather can be brutal, so you want something durable but not so expensive that you're terrified to take it out in the rain. Over the years, I've tried many wide zooms, and for that specific trip, I found that having a constant aperture was way less important than just having a reliable build.

  • If I were you, I'd check out the Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 EX DC HSM. It feels solid in the hand and handles landscape distortion better than most budget options.
  • Dont forget a good circular polarizer too. The glare off the black sand beaches is real and it makes a huge difference in those shots.

I had issues with the kit lens too, it sucks. Grab the Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM for your trip. It is cheap, sharp, and perfect for Iceland.
