What do think the US price for the upcoming RF 35mm f/1.4L USM lens, and where can I pre-order this lens ?
I have been tracking these price trends for a while and $2,500 seems to be the sweet spot Canon likes for these professional primes. My journey with gear has taught me that cutting corners on glass usually ends up costing more in the long run anyway. I used to try and find cheaper workarounds but the consistency of native L lenses is just hard to beat. If you need to pre-order, sticking with the big authorized retailers is usually the safest bet for securing a spot in the queue. I found that their return policies are way more reliable if you happen to get a copy that isnt perfectly sharp. Honestly, just going with any high-end prime from Canon is usually a safe bet for build quality.

im really hoping it lands closer to 1800 but canon has been pretty aggressive with pricing lately. tbh i picked up the Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM while waiting for this and its been solid enough for 90% of my work. sure the bokeh isnt as creamy as an L lens but the weight savings are huge. if youre dead set on the Canon RF 35mm f/1.4L USM tho, b&h or adorama are the standard picks for pre-orders... just gotta be ready the second the link goes live or youll be waiting months. usually they go up around 6am est on announcement day. i used the Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM with an adapter for a long time and honestly the difference in image quality is usually negligible unless you print huge.
Same here!
Price around $2,500 I guess.
