See rumors that Canon is going to announce RF 35mm f/1.4L USM lens soon. What is the price and release date ?
I think the US price for this lens is around $2,500. And release date is expected in Summer 2024.
Saving this whole thread. So much good info here you guys are awesome.
Since it is not the rumored f/1.2 lens, so it should cheaper than RF 85mm f/1.2L USM lens, which is currently $2,799.
Been thinking about this since earlier... honestly I am so pumped for this lens! The rumors about it being a hybrid VCM lens are super exciting because it might actually be way cheaper than the $2,500 people are guessing. I am hearing it might be closer to $1,499 which would be fantastic! I've been on a long journey to find the perfect 35mm setup while keeping things cost-effective and here is what I found regarding compatibility:
- The Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM is still an absolute beast and you can find them used for a great price right now.
- If you go the EF route, you definitely want the Canon Control Ring Mount Adapter EF-EOS R to keep that RF-style control dial functionality.
- Keep in mind that the new VCM motors in the RF version might need a firmware update on a Canon EOS R6 Mark II or other bodies to handle the electronic iris ring correctly. I love the 35mm focal length so much, its basically glued to my camera for every shoot. Cant wait to see if the video features live up to the hype!
Any specs about this upcoming lens ?
So it will not have IS feature ? A bit disappoint for this lens. 😥Â
Just a quick reminder, if you need this lens, just order it ASAP, it will be in short supply just like RF 200-800mm lens.
This lens is expected to have some new video features, according to latest rumors:
