Im getting so annoyed trying to pick a lens for my R6. Everywhere I look people are screaming about the RF 24-70mm f2.8 being the god-tier option but that thing costs more than my car, and honestly, I dont need that much bulk for street photography and the occasional family trip. I also checked out the 24-105mm f4 but saw a bunch of people complaining about sharpness and low light performance so now Im back to square one.
My constraints are:
- Budget: around 1k max
- Use case: travel and everyday street stuff
- Preference: something light because I hate lugging heavy gear all day
Is there anything else actually worth buying or am I stuck?

Honestly, skip the expensive glass. I tried the Canon RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM and it was fine, but the Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM is way better for street.

Just saw this thread. Honestly, I gave up on the heavy zooms and switched to primes from Canon. Theyre way smaller for travel and make street stuff much more fun tbh.
