So I finally splurged and picked up a Canon R5 because I really wanted to get into photography and honestly just take better photos of my golden retriever, Cooper. My brother told me it was a total beast of a camera but he might have overestimated my skills because I am totally lost. I have the kit lens that came with it but it just doesnt seem to take those crisp portraits where the background is super blurry like I see on Instagram. I have like 1500 bucks left in my budget for a new lens and I really want something that can do a bit of everything because Im honestly too lazy to swap them out while walking the dog. Someone at the store mentioned a 24-70 or maybe a 24-105 but honestly that just sounds like a bunch of random numbers to me. I have a trip to Colorado coming up in August so I really want something reliable that wont break if I drop it or something. Im just really confused by all the options and dont want to buy something I regret immediately. Basically I just need one lens that is good for landscape shots when we are hiking but also makes my dog look like a professional model. Is there a holy grail lens that isnt going to cost me my entire savings account or should I just stick with what I have and keep practicing? Sorry if this is a totally dumb question but I feel like I bought a Ferrari and I dont even know how to drive a stick shift yet...
