Upgraded to the R5II but my EF glass is looking super soft on this sensor. Im doing a huge Tokyo trip in two weeks and need one do-it-all lens that actually keeps up.

- light enough for all day
- needs weather sealing
Is the RF 24-70 2.8 worth the weight or am I overthinking this?
@Reply #1 - good point! I did Tokyo last fall and honestly, my heavy setup was a total nightmare on the subway. I switched to the Canon RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM and it was fantastic! Love how much money I saved too.

Comparing the two main options for your trip:
- Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM: This is the most practical choice. It is weather-sealed, lighter for all-day carry, and much cheaper.
- Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8 L IS USM: Also weather-sealed and better for low light, but it is noticeably heavier. Honestly, the 24-105mm resolves that 45MP sensor well and is much easier on the neck.
I think the f/2.8 zoom is your best bet for that high-resolution sensor. IIRC the resolving power is significantly higher than older EF glass. Not sure but I heard the weight can be a real drag after a few hours in Tokyo. It is a decent option for low light, tho a lighter zoom might be better for all-day carry.
