so i just dropped way too much money on the r5 mark ii and honestly im a bit annoyed because my old ef 24-105 feels sluggish on it even with the adapter and the edge softness is driving me nuts. my logic was that the ibis would make up for the older glass but it just isnt clicking.

im looking for that one perfect do-it-all zoom because i have a huge outdoor wedding in lake tahoe coming up in three weeks and i cannot be fumbling with primes in that dust. should i just bite the bullet on the rf 24-70 2.8 or is the 24-105 f4 actually sharp enough for this many megapixels? i keep going back and forth on the extra stop of light vs the reach...

Opt for the 2.8 zoom. Honestly, that 45MP sensor exposes every flaw in older optics. You risk missing focus if the USM motors cant keep up with the r5ii data throughput.
