Leaving for Japan in 10 days and still havent bought a camera, so I'm super stressed. I've got $900 and I'm stuck between the Sony a6400 and the Fuji X-T30 II. The Sony autofocus is better but Fuji has those film looks... are there any deals right now or should I just bite the bullet?
Honestly, 10 days is cutting it close so i wouldnt wait around for a massive flash sale. The Sony Alpha a6400 with 16-50mm Power Zoom Lens is sitting right around $850 at most big retailers lately which fits your budget. I used one for a while and the autofocus is basically magic for street photography in Tokyo... it just doesnt miss. The Fuji is super stylish but the Fujifilm X-T30 II with XC 15-45mm Lens is tough to find in stock at MSRP right now. People are upcharging like crazy. If you want those film looks without the Fuji tax, maybe just grab the Sony and use some presets. Tbh for a trip like this you want something reliable that wont hunt for focus while you're exploring. Check B&H or Adorama today, they ship fast so you can actually learn the buttons before the flight.
