honestly so fed up with my old Rebel it keeps freezing right when I need to capture a shot and im totally over it. my logic was that I could wait for black friday to snag a decent deal on an R6 or even an R7 because I have a wedding shoot in Chicago mid-December and I need something that actually works.

but everywhere I look the prices are still basically full retail or they say sale but its only like fifty bucks off?? i was thinking maybe there are some hidden sites or specific bundles im missing because im stuck. does anyone know which retailers usually have the actual deep discounts or is everything just a scam nowadays...

honestly, id be really careful with those random sites that pop up during sales. i once tried to save money on a lens from a site i didnt recognize and ended up with a gray market version that had no warranty. it was a complete mess when it stopped working. for something important like a wedding in chicago, you definitely want reliability. maybe you should check out the canon refurbished store directly. my Canon EOS R6 Mirrorless Camera with 20.1 MP Sensor came from there last year and it looked brand new. they usually do a big restock for black friday and the prices are way better than retail. also make sure to peek at b&h or adorama for legitimate bundles. you might want to consider the Canon EOS R7 Mirrorless Camera with 32.5 MP APS-C Sensor if you want that extra reach. just stay away from those crazy bundle deals on shady websites, they usually include cheap accessories that might fail on you... its just not worth the risk.
