Honestly my old DSLR is driving me crazy, the autofocus is so unreliable and I keep missing shots of my dog. Im in the UK and really need to upgrade before a trip next month. Budget is like 800 quid max. Are there actually any decent mirrorless deals right now or am I just dreaming?
> Im in the UK and really need to upgrade before a trip next month. Budget is like 800 quid max. Total dream! You can definitely score something amazing for under 800.
- Sony Alpha A6400 24.2MP Mirrorless is a beast for pets. The eye-tracking is insane and never misses.
- Canon EOS R50 24.2MP Mirrorless is super light for travel and handles fast motion perfectly. Grab the Sony if you want pro AF, honestly.
> You can definitely score something amazing for under 800. Honestly, I'd skip the crop sensors and look at the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV 20.3MP instead. It is tiny for travel and the stabilization is magic for dog shots. If you want something a bit punchier, the Panasonic Lumix G100 20.3MP is a total steal right now. Trust me, the lenses are way cheaper too, so you wont blow your budget immediately.
Re: > Im in the UK and really need to upgrade before a trip next month. Honestly, forget the DSLR lag! You need that phase-detect AF system. For your budget, these are absolute speed demons for tracking a fast dog:
- Fujifilm X-T30 II 26.1MP APS-C - love the color science and it locks onto subjects instantly.
- Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV 20MP Micro Four Thirds - the IBIS is insane for handheld shots, plus it is super compact for your trip.
