I have been staring at these Amazon tabs for like three hours now and I still cant decide if these Prime Day prices are actually good or if they just marked them up last week to make it look like a discount. Im going to Japan in three weeks and my old Nikon DSLR is just too heavy to lug around Tokyo all day so I really want to jump into mirrorless before I leave.
Im basically torn between the Sony a6400 and the Fujifilm X-T30 II right now. The Sony is on sale for about $750 with the kit lens which seems like a steal but the Fuji colors just look so much better in the samples Ive seen online and I love the retro look. I also saw the Canon R10 has a decent bundle deal but I heard the lens selection is kinda limited.
Heres what I am looking for:
- Budget: absolute max of 1000 dollars with a lens
- Size: has to be portable enough for a small sling bag
- Use case: street photography and some landscape stuff
- Timeline: need it by next week so I can learn how to use it
Is the autofocus on the Sony really that much better than the Fuji for just walking around and taking snapshots? The Fuji isnt even technically a Prime deal but I saw a warehouse deal that looks tempting. Just not sure if I should wait or if these are the best prices I am gonna see for a while...
Honestly, that Sony a6400 24.2MP Mirrorless with 16-50mm Lens at $750 is the smartest buy right now. In my experience, these Prime Day prices are usually the lowest youll see.
- AF tracking: Sonys 425-point phase-detect system is miles ahead of Fuji.
- Ecosystem: Way more budget-friendly Sigma and Tamron lenses available. Grab the Sony and save the extra cash for your trip. Youll appreciate the reliable eye-AF when shooting in busy Tokyo streets.
