Ive been shooting with my trusty mirrorless for like 5 years now but the shutter count is getting scary high and I need an upgrade for a wedding gig in late October. My budget is tight around 1500 bucks. Are there any legit deals dropping soon or should I just bite the bullet now?
Like someone mentioned, the used market is honestly your best bet for a wedding gig. I tried picking up a discounted Fujifilm X-T4 26.1MP Mirrorless recently, but unfortunately, it wasnt as reliable as my older gear and I had issues with focus hunting during low light. Stick to reliable bodies and keep an extra battery. Just make sure your backup is rock solid before you commit to the wedding date.
Honestly, just snag a Sony Alpha a7 III Full Frame Mirrorless used now. Over the years, I have seen prices dip on these, and it will crush those wedding gigs.
