Honestly I am so fed up with this kit lens it keeps ruining my shots and the field of view is just so narrow. I am trying to prep for a hiking trip to Zion next month but every landscape shot I take looks cramped and honestly just bad. I blew my whole budget on the A7III body like a dummy and now I only have maybe 400 or 500 left for glass which feels impossible.
- Need wide angle
- Must be Sony E mount
- Sharpness matters more than autofocus honestly
I'm looking for the best budget wide angle options because I cant keep using this garbage plastic lens. Is there anything out there that doesnt cost a mortgage payment?

The A7III is a beast but the kit lens is definitely holding you back. Since you care about sharpness over AF, these are solid picks for your budget:
- Samyang 14mm f/2.8 ED AS IF UMC Sony E - extremely wide and sharp for the price.
- Tamron 20mm f/2.8 Di III OSD M1:2 Sony E - very compact and optically excellent. Either will easily handle Zion's scale and they dont cost a fortune.
