Im losing my mind trying to pick a portrait lens for my X-T30. I have a wedding coming up in about three weeks where Im supposed to take some shots of the family and I just cant justify spending a grand on the Fuji 56mm f/1.2. My budget is strictly under 400 bucks which makes this way harder than it should be.

Everyone keeps saying the Viltrox 56mm f/1.4 is the king of budget glass, but then I read a bunch of reviews saying the autofocus is super hit or miss and the firmware updates are a nightmare if you dont have a windows machine (I only use a macbook). Then I looked at the Sigma 56mm but people are arguing about whether the bokeh looks as creamy as the Fuji one or if it looks too clinical. Why is there no clear winner? Is the Viltrox actually reliable enough to use at an event or am I gonna end up with a hundred blurry photos of my aunt?
Does anyone have experience using these cheaper primes for actual human faces? Should I just look for a used older lens instead of these new third party ones?

Ever considered the Fujifilm XF 50mm f/2 R WR? Its weather-sealed and the AF is snappy for events. Are you okay with f/2 instead of f/1.4 for the extra reliability?
