Which prime lens should I buy for street photography on Fujifilm?

im honestly so fed up with my bulky zoom lens. people in nyc keep staring at me and it ruins the candid vibe. my logic was i needed the range but now im just annoyed. i have 400 bucks for a prime before my trip next week. is the 23mm f2 the way to go or what?

@Reply #2 - good point on the autofocus speed! The 23mm f2 is indeed a beast for tracking. But I'd be careful if you buy used right before a big trip. I did that once with a cheap used prime and the aperture ring was slipping, which ruined half my shots in Chicago. If you go for the Fujifilm XF 23mm f/2 R WR, make sure to test the weather sealing ring on the mount. NYC weather is unpredictable and you don't want dust or moisture getting inside. Another option is the pancake Fujifilm XF 27mm f/2.8 R WR, which is even more stealthy. But honestly, its autofocus is noisier and slower, so you might miss fast-moving street moments. I'd stick to the 23mm but buy from a reputable shop with a return policy, even if it stretches your budget closer to $350.

Unfortunately, the prime I bought was not as good as expected.sluggish focussoft corners I missed too many shots in London... Honestly, staying with the zoom is safer.
