Looking for a good macro lens for my Fuji X-T5? Any good recommendations ?
Regarding what #3 said about "Dont overlook third-party options! The Laowa 65mm f/2.8...", they are totally spot on. Manual focus is basically a requirement once you get really close anyway. I've tried many setups over the years and while the 80mm is a beast, its a bit of a brick to carry around. If you want to save some cash and go the DIY route, you can get incredible results without buying a dedicated macro lens immediately. In my experience, sometimes the simplest gear gives the most character.
- Fujifilm MCEX-11 Extension Tube or the Fujifilm MCEX-16 Extension Tube to turn your current glass into macro lenses.
- 7artisans 60mm f/2.8 II Macro is another solid third-party choice that wont break the bank.
- Raynox DCR-250 Super Macro Snap-On Lens
- I still use this on my kit lenses sometimes, it is surprisingly sharp for what it is. Tbh, if you already have a standard zoom, just grab those extension tubes first. Its a fun way to learn the ropes before committing to a massive prime. Macro is addictive tho so watch out for your wallet lol...
Bump - same question here
In my experience, the Fujifilm XF 80mm f/2.8 R LM OIS WR Macro is hands down the best macro lens for the Fujifilm X system. It offers true 1:1 magnification, incredible sharpness, and beautiful bokeh. The weather-sealing is a nice bonus too. It's a bit pricey, but worth every penny if you're serious about macro photography.
Below are three best prime macro lenses for Fujifilm X-T5:
-
Fujifilm Fujinon XF30mmF2.8 R LM WR Macro
-
Fujifilm Fujinon XF60mmF2.4 R Macro
-
Fujifilm XF 80mm F2.8 R LM OIS WR
Here are the two best macro lenses for Fujifilm X cameras:
- Fujifilm XF 80mm f/2.8 R LM OIS WR Macro – This lens offers a 1:1 magnification ratio, excellent image quality, and weather resistance, making it ideal for outdoor macro photography.
- Fujifilm XF 60mm f/2.4 R Macro – A compact and lightweight option, this lens provides a 1:1 magnification ratio and delivers sharp images, making it great for close-up work.
Don't overlook third-party options! The Laowa 65mm f/2.8 2x Ultra Macro APO is an excellent choice. It offers 2:1 magnification, which is even higher than Fujifilm's offerings. It's manual focus only, but for macro work, that's often preferred anyway.
Fujifilm XF 80mm f/2.8 R LM OIS WR Macro is the best choice. You should get one.
