What is the best all-around travel lens for Fujifilm X-T5?

Finally pulled the trigger on an X-T5 after rocking the X-T2 for years and I am so hyped to take it to Portugal next month! I've been saving up for this trip forever and I really want to make sure I get the right glass because that 40 megapixel sensor is no joke and I dont want to waste it. I've been scouring the forums and watching like fifty YouTube videos but I'm just getting more confused the more I read honestly.

I saw a lot of people recommending the 18-55mm kit lens because it's small and has that f/2.8 at the wide end but then I read that it's actually getting a bit long in the tooth and might not be sharp enough to handle the new sensor resolution. Then there's the 16-80mm f4 which seems like the perfect range for travel but half the people online say it's soft at the long end and the edges are mushy. I'm also looking at the 18-135mm but I'm worried it's just gonna be too bulky for walking around Lisbon all day especially with the hills.

Here is what I am looking for:

  • Budget: trying to keep it under 900 bucks if possible (totally fine with used gear from MPB or Keh)
  • Weight: I'm gonna be walking a ton so I dont want something that's gonna kill my neck by midday
  • Versatility: I really only want to carry one lens if I can help it because swapping glass in the wind sounds like a nightmare
  • Image quality: I want to actually see the benefit of the 40MP sensor when I crop in later
  • Use case: mostly street photography, some landscapes, and definitely some low light shots of dinners

I've also seen some talk about the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 which is super tiny but it doesnt have aperture rings which is kind of a bummer since I love the Fuji dials. Then there is the Tamron 17-70mm which everyone says is sharp but it looks huge in photos. Does anyone actually use that one on an X-T5? Is it too front heavy? I'm just torn between the convenience of a zoom and the sharpness of the newer primes. What are you guys actually using on your X-T5 for travel right now?
