So I just bought a Fujifilm XT5 because I heard the photos look great but honestly I have no idea what I'm doing yet. Im going on a trip to Kyoto next month and really just want one lens that stays on the camera the whole time because I dont want to be fumbling around with gear while sightseeing.
I keep seeing the 18-55 kit lens and then this 16-80 thing and some people say the 16-55 is the best but it looks huge and super expensive? My logic was that more numbers equals more zoom but then people talk about f-stops and I'm just totally lost. My budget is around 900 bucks for the lens so what should I actually get for general vacation photos?
Omg you're gonna love Kyoto! For a one-and-done lens, the Fujifilm XF 16-80mm f/4 R OIS WR is absolutely amazing because of that extra reach. It handles everything from wide shrines to tight street shots.
- Turn on Boost mode in settings for snappy focus.
- Keep it at f4 and just focus on the scenery. Youll get fantastic shots without ever swapping gear, and its well within your budget. Tbh its the ultimate vacation setup!
