i finally upgraded to the x-t5 after using an old x-t20 for years and im taking it on a three week trip to japan next month. i really want to travel light so im looking for just one lens to stay on the camera the whole time. i've been doing a ton of reading and im stuck between a few options. i read that the old 18-55mm is a classic but then people on reddit say it doesnt really hold up to the new 40mp sensor and you lose a lot of detail which would be a shame. then i looked at the 16-80mm f4 because that extra reach would be great for street stuff in kyoto but so many reviews say it gets really soft at the long end and i dont want to spend $800 on a lens that isnt sharp. i also saw the sigma 18-50mm is tiny and sharp but it doesnt have an aperture ring which is kind of a dealbreaker for me since thats why i love fuji in the first place. i have about $1000 to spend and i just want something that balances size with image quality. what do you guys think is the best one-lens solution that actually takes advantage of the x-t5 sensor without being a total brick to carry around all day?
