I finally saved up and grabbed an X-T5 but now Im totally stuck on which prime to get for a street trip to Chicago next month. I read a bunch of threads saying the 23mm f2 is the "classic" choice since its so tiny and discrete but other people are saying it cant really handle the 40mp sensor and looks soft.

I looked at the 18mm f1.4 too because its supposed to be super sharp but I dont know if that's gonna be way too wide for what I want to do... plus its kinda bulky for carrying all day. I have about $850 to spend max. Does the older 23mm actually look bad on the newer sensor or is there a better middle ground I missed?
