So I finally pulled the trigger on a used SL2-S last week and while the sensor is incredible I am basically flat broke now. Ive been shooting with the M system for years so I know my way around glass but the L-mount ecosystem is still a bit new to me in terms of native AF options. I have this big trip to the Dolomites coming up in three weeks and I desperately need a wide angle lens for those mountain vistas but my budget is capped at like 700 bucks maybe 800 if I stretch it. My logic was to maybe grab the Sigma 24mm f2 Contemporary because its small but then I worry it wont have that micro-contrast Im used to. Then I thought about the Panasonic 18mm f1.8 since its native but will it look too clinical? Ive even looked at adapted manual glass like the Voigtlander 21mm Color-Skopar but Im super anxious about how it handles the thicker sensor stack on the SL bodies compared to an M. Like am I gonna get crazy color shifting or soft corners? I really dont want to lug around a giant Sigma Art lens while hiking but Im stuck between getting something cheap and native or something nice but manual and potentially messy...
> my budget is capped at like 700 bucks Ive been very satisfied with the Panasonic Lumix S 18mm f1.8 L-Mount. It works well, stays light for hiking, and fits your budget perfectly. No complaints.
