Ive been shooting with my fp for a year now mostly doing street stuff with that 45mm kit lens. But Im going to Iceland next month for a landscape trip and realized I have zero wide options that arent huge or crazy expensive. Looking for something under $500 that keeps the tiny footprint. Any sharp wide-angle recommendations?

For a trip to Iceland, you might want to consider sticking with the Sigma I-series glass to maintain that compact fp footprint. Be careful with some of the cheaper adapted vintage lenses because the fp sensor can sometimes struggle with corner shading on very wide angles. I would suggest looking into these two options which fit your budget:

  • Sigma 24mm f/3.5 DG DN Contemporary L-mount
  • Panasonic Lumix S 20-60mm f/3.5-5.6 L-mount The 24mm is basically a sibling to your 45mm and the build quality is stellar for the price. If you need more width, the Panasonic zoom is surprisingly good for landscapes and you can usually find it used for well under $350. Just make sure to double check the weather sealing if youre gonna be near the mist at Skogafoss... Iceland can be brutal on gear.
