What is the best all-around zoom lens for the Panasonic S5II? honestly i just got this camera and i have no idea what i am doing because it is my first real camera besides my phone and everything is so confusing. i keep hearing about different brands like sigma and panasonic and i dont even know if they all fit the same way. like do i need an adapter? i hope not.

i am going to japan in about three weeks and i really want just one lens that can do everything because i dont want to be swapping things out in the middle of a street or losing parts in my backpack. i want to take pictures of buildings and also maybe some food and people. my budget is like $1000 max because i already spent so much on the actual camera body and my wife is already kinda annoyed at how much i spent lol.

someone told me to look at a 24-70 or a 28-200 but i dont know what those numbers really mean in real life. is one better for blurry backgrounds? i really like that blurry look for portraits but i also want to see the whole mountain or street. sorry if these are really basic questions i am just super overwhelmed with all the options on the websites and i dont want to buy the wrong thing before my big trip. what should i get?

Im very satisfied with a 24-105mm constant aperture lens.

  • avoid non-native EF mounts
  • watch the total weight This focal range works well for most shots.
