So hyped for my new S5II! Im shooting a wedding in June and need one solid zoom. My logic was the 20-60mm kit is cheap but maybe too slow? Then I saw the Sigma 24-70 f2.8 but people say its a brick to carry all day. Budget is around $1k. What should I grab?
honestly the kit lens is gonna let you down in a dim reception hall. i would suggest looking at the Sigma 28-70mm f2.8 DG DN Contemporary since it hits that sweet spot of being fast but also super light. be careful with the bigger art lens... it really is a tank and your arms will feel it by the cake cutting. make sure to think about whether you need that extra bit of width at 24mm tho. i personally think the weight savings are worth it for weddings. its definitely under your $1k budget too which is a plus. just let me know if you want more details on how it handles low light on the s5ii!
