What 85mm prime should I pick up for my D850 before next months wedding shoot? Ive been using my 50mm 1.8 for years but the distortion is bugging me during headshots. Im in London and have about 600 quid to spend, ideally looking for sharp bokeh without breaking the bank. Is the G series still the way to go?

Honestly, just grab a used Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.8G. It is super sharp, fits your budget perfectly, and honestly wont let you down when things get busy at the wedding.

@Reply #2 - good point! If you want a bit more reach or dreamier bokeh, look at the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art used, though it is heavy.

Coming back to this, just be careful with older glass. I would suggest hunting for a used Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.8G instead. It saves cash for other gear.
