I just upgraded to the Nikon Z6 II mirrorless camera and I'm looking for recommendations on the best wide-angle lens to pair with it. I shoot a mix of landscapes, cityscapes, and architecture photography, so I need something sharp with minimal distortion.
My budget is around $1000. What would you suggest as the ideal wide-angle prime or zoom lens for the Z6 II? I've been looking at the Nikkor Z 14-30mm f/4 S and the 20mm f/1.8 S prime, but open to other options too. Thanks in advance for your advice!
For landscapes/architecture on a budget, I'd go with the Nikkor Z 14-30mm f/4 S. It's an extremely sharp zoom lens with very little distortion. The 14mm wide end on the full-frame Z6 II will give you that nice wide perspective. It's relatively lightweight and compact for a pro-grade ultra-wide zoom too.
If you looking for a high-end wide-angle lens, try the NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f2.8 S, you will love this lens, the only week point is it is a bit heavy

Same setup here, love it
I have the 20mm f/1.8 S prime and absolutely love it on my Z6 II. Yeah, it's not quite as wide as 14mm, but 20mm is still very wide for most uses. The f/1.8 aperture is great for low light situations and subject separation. Sharpness and contrast are superb. It's also more affordable than the 14-30mm zoom if you don't need the flexibility of a zoom range.
Z 14-30mm f/4 S is a great lens for Z6ii.
