honestly im just so done with my 24-70 f4 kit lens because every time i try to do a serious headshot for my clients it just feels flat and the background is way too busy no matter what I do. i spent all this money on the z6 body and my shots still look like they came from a phone camera its actually driving me crazy because i have a wedding coming up in tacoma in three weeks and i need that creamy bokeh look. i was looking at the 85mm 1.8 s but some people say the 50mm is better for tight spaces. my budget is capped at like 800 bucks so i cant go for the 1.2 beasts unfortunately. which prime should i actually get for z6 portraits that wont let me down?

The Nikon NIKKOR Z 85mm f/1.8 S is the right choice for headshots, imo.

  • better compression
  • smoother bokeh Its basically the gold standard for Z portraits under 800 bucks.
