So Ive been shooting on my A7IV for a few years now and usually Im a total prime lens purist but I just booked a last minute trip to Tokyo for next Thursday and realized I really dont want to be lugging my whole bag of heavy glass through the subway system. My back has been killing me lately and honestly I just want one lens that stays on the body the entire time without me having to swap in the middle of a crowded street. I was looking at the 24-70 GM II but thats way over what I can spend right now after booking the flights and everything. My budget is capped at like $1100 maybe $1200 max if I stretch it. I need something that can handle street stuff at night but also wide enough for some architecture shots around the city. I looked at the Tamron 28-75 G2 and the Sigma 24-70 but then I saw that newer Sony 20-70 f4 and now I am just totally stuck on what to do. That f4 is worrying for low light but that 20mm width is so tempting for tight streets. If you had to pick one single all-rounder for a high-paced travel situation where you cant swap glass every five minutes what are you actually grabbing? I need to order this by Monday so it gets here before I leave...
Unfortunately that f4 aperture is quite disappointing for night street work. I had issues with noise in Shinjuku, so just prioritize the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2.
