Ive been shooting with the 85mm 1.8 for years but I have a wedding in Seattle next month with super tiny indoor spaces.

So I was thinking the 50mm GM for the speed, but then I worried it’s still too tight. Does the 35mm look too weird for close portraits? I’m stuck between the two...

  • Definitely go with the Sony FE 35mm f/1.8!
  • It's amazing for tight spaces and costs way less than the GM. I love it!

Unfortunately I tried a 50mm in a cramped studio last month and it just wasnt as good as I expected for those wide environmental shots. It felt really restrictive.

  • 35mm might warp faces if you get too close
  • IIRC some of those wider primes hunt for focus in dim rooms
  • Seattle lighting is gonna be tough Not 100% sure but I think the distortion is manageable if you center your subject. Youll do great tho!

Gonna try this over the weekend. Will report back if it works!
