so i finally pulled the trigger and got the a7iv after saving up for like a year and im so hyped to actually use it for real. im going on a trip to tokyo in about three weeks and i really want to just stick to one prime lens for the whole trip so i dont have to carry a massive bag around shibuya and shinjuku all day. i used to shoot with a fuji x100v but i sold it to fund this setup so im used to that 35mm equivalent focal length but now im torn on which way to go for the sony.

im looking at three main options right now: the sony 35mm f1.8, the zeiss 35mm f2.8, and that tiny 40mm f2.5 g lens. the 35mm 1.8 seems like the safe bet because its fast for night shots but i saw some people saying the 40mm g is way better for street because of how small it is and it fits the vibe of the a7iv body better. then there is the zeiss which i can find used for a steal but its older tech and im worried the autofocus wont keep up with the eye tracking on the new camera. my budget is capped at like $600 since i already blew most of my cash on the body and some extra batteries so which one do you guys think makes the most sense for a fast-paced city trip like this?

I would suggest prioritizing used equipment to remain within your budget.
