Kevin Carter has just posted a full review of the new released Tamron SP 35mm F1.8 Di VC USD (Amazon|B&H|Adorama|ebay) at the DxOMark. With an overall score of 41 points tested on Nikon D810, Tamron SP 35mm F1.8 Di VC USD is an exceptional performer for Nikon with very high sharpness even wide open. It comes very close to the king Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG HSM Art lens.

At $600, it’s comfortably more accessible than the Sigma (although you do give up three-quarters of a T-stop); indeed, it’s around the same price as the Nikon 35mm f1.8G ED that it outperforms, particularly with regard to control of chromatic aberration. Add optical stabilization, and theTamron looks like an attractive option….”
