Tamron’s lenses for mirrorless cameras are highly regarded for their combination of superior optical performance and compact, lightweight designs. The decision to develop a lens for the Canon RF mount comes after numerous customer requests.

Despite its small size, the 11-20mm F2.8 promises to deliver outstanding image quality. The lens is also designed to accurately capture both still images and video, thanks to its high-performance autofocus system with an RXD stepping motor.

The lens’s close-range shooting capabilities enable creative use of perspective at the wide end, making it a versatile option for photographers and videographers using Canon’s APS-C mirrorless cameras.

Tamron’s announcement coincides with Sigma’s reveal that it will offer six of its DC DN range of APS-C lenses for the Canon RF mount, signaling a growing interest in providing high-quality lens options for the smaller format RF-mount models.

As the first Tamron lens developed for the Canon RF mount, the 11-20mm F2.8 Di III-A RXD represents an exciting expansion of the company’s mirrorless lens lineup and demonstrates its commitment to meeting the needs of photographers using various camera systems.
