I recently switched to the Canon R5 mirrorless system for my real estate photography business. What RF lenses do you recommend for interiors and exteriors? I'm looking for sharp, wide-angle options with minimal distortion. Thanks for any suggestions!
For real estate photography, you would choose the prime Canon RF 16mm F2.8 STM and the zoom Canon RF 15-35mm f/2.8L IS USM. Both the lenses will serve well for different aspects of real estate photography, giving you the flexibility and quality needed for great shots.
honestly ive tried so many setups over the years and if youre shooting on an R5 you really just gotta stay native. ive seen too many people have weird communication errors or AF lag when they try to save a few bucks on glass that isnt built specifically for the RF mount.
- stick with the Canon wide glass
- avoid the cheap adapters for real estate
- keep it simple actually reminds me of a shoot i had last month where the client wanted these weird twilight shots but my old adapted lens kept hunting for focus in the shadows... spent half the night just trying to get the shutter to fire while the sky was turning purple. super frustrating. anyway, just go with a Canon zoom and youll be fine.
- The Professional Standard: RF 15-35mm f/2.8L IS USM
- Best All-Rounder: RF 14-35mm f/4L IS USM
- The Ultimate Wide Specialist: RF 10-20mm f/4L IS STM
- Best Budget Prime: RF 16mm f/2.8 STM
Saved for later, ty!
I use RF 10-20mm f/4 L IS STM lens, though it is a bit expensive, it really works well at most time for RE work.
I ordered this lens several weeks ago, still not get yet.
