Im so sick of carrying this massive gear bag around honestly. I took my Canon R6 out for a local street festival last weekend and my shoulder was actually throbbing by the end of the day. Im planning a three week trip to Japan in October and there is just no way Im dragging three different lenses through Tokyo subways and hiking around Kyoto. Right now I have the 24-70 f2.8 which is amazing for quality but man it weighs a ton and then I keep switching to a 35mm prime for low light and I always end up missing the moment because I was busy fumbling with lens caps or getting dust on my sensor. Its just becoming a huge chore and its killing the fun of taking pictures.

Budget is around 1200 bucks max. I need something that covers the wide end for landscapes but has enough reach so I dont have to literally run across the street to get a decent frame. I was looking at the 24-105 f4L but I worry it might still be too heavy or maybe not fast enough? Or is that 24-240 superzoom actually decent or is the glass just total mush? I just want one single lens that can stay on the camera 90% of the time so I can actually look at the scenery instead of my camera bag. What are you guys using for a one-lens travel setup that doesnt feel like a workout?

Oh man, I totally feel your pain! I did a month in Italy and made the mistake of bringing way too much gear... it was a total nightmare. Seriously tho, be careful with those superzooms that promise everything! They usually end up being total mush and super unreliable when the light drops. I switched to a constant f4 zoom for my last trip and it was absolutely fantastic for my back!
