I'm looking to upgrade my portrait lens for my Canon camera in 2024. With so many options out there, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. What are your top picks for Canon portrait lenses this year? I'm particularly interested in lenses that offer excellent bokeh, sharpness, and versatility. Budget isn't a major concern, but I'd love to hear about options at different price points. Are there any new releases that are game-changers? Or do the tried-and-true classics still reign supreme? Share your experiences, recommendations, and any tips for choosing the perfect portrait lens. Thanks in advance for your insights!
Huh interesting. I had no idea. The more you know I guess 🤷
Re: "RF 85mm f/1.2L USM DS lens." - man that price tag is just painful to look at. honestly its ridiculous how much these lenses cost now. drives me crazy that canon keeps hiking prices while the third party options are basically non-existent because of the mount lock. its such a scam that we have to pay a premium just to get decent glass that doesnt fall apart. you might want to be careful before dropping that kind of cash. i would suggest really looking at whether you actually need the latest stuff because honestly... the way prices are going is just unsustainable for most of us. it feels like they dont even care about regular hobbyists anymore. just makes me want to stick with my old gear forever tbh. make sure to really weigh the cost vs the actual gain because the diminishing returns are hitting hard lately.
RF 50mm f/1.2L or RF 85mm f/1.2L.
