I recently got the Canon EOS R7 mirrorless camera and am looking for a good lens for portrait photography. I'd prefer something with a wide aperture for nice background separation and bokeh. Any recommendations from R7 portrait shooters? Thanks!
The Canon RF 85mm f/1.2L USM is an incredible portrait lens for the EOS R7. It's super sharp, has dreamy bokeh, and the f/1.2 aperture allows for shooting in low light conditions. It's pricey, but worth it if portraits are your main focus.
For a more budget-friendly option, consider the Canon RF 85mm f/2 Macro IS STM. It's a versatile lens that delivers great image quality for portraits and also allows you to capture close-up details with its macro capabilities. The IS is helpful for handheld shooting.
Just wait for Sigma RF-S lenses, they will released soon in later this year. I think Sigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN C is the best portrait lens.
