So I was looking at reviews all morning trying to figure out the best all-around lens for the Canon EOS R5 Mark II and honestly Im just more confused now. I read that the RF 24-70mm f/2.8 is basically the gold standard for a daily driver, but then half the internet swears the RF 24-105mm f/4 is better because of the extra reach and lighter weight for travel. My budget is around 2500 max and Im heading to Japan in October for three weeks, mostly shooting street stuff and some nature hikes. My logic was that f/2.8 is safer for low light shrines, but do I really need that over the 105mm reach... what do people actually pack for a trip like this?
Get the Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM! The extra reach is an absolute lifesaver in Japan for street details and nature hikes, and your R5 Mark II handles high ISO like a dream anyway!
