whats the best travel lens for a canon eos r5 if i want to stay relatively light? im heading to kyoto and osaka in about three weeks and im torn between the rf 24-105mm f/4l and the 24-240mm superzoom. the 24-105 is obviously better quality but i feel like i might miss that extra reach for temple details and stuff. budget is capped at like $1200 so the 24-105 is pushing it unless i find a good used deal. the 24-240 is cheaper but is it gonna look soft on a 45mp sensor? i really dont want to swap lenses in the middle of a crowded street or carry a massive bag around all day...
You should definitely go with the Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM for your trip! First, the weather sealing is fantastic for peace of mind if it rains in Kyoto. Second, the optical reliability is amazing on that 45mp sensor. It is honestly the safest, most professional choice so you dont end up with soft images! I love it because you wont have to worry about gear failure!
