Where can I find the best Black Friday sales for a Canon mirrorless camera right now? I need one before my sisters wedding in ten days and I'm totally lost with all these numbers like R50 or R10 or whatever they are called. I really want a nice one but my budget is only about 750 bucks which I know isnt much. I checked Amazon and Best Buy but everything looks the same to me and I dont want to mess up and buy the wrong thing. Is there a specific site I should look at or a kit that has everything I need? Sorry if this is a dumb question but I literally know nothing about cameras and I'm panicaly checking my phone every five minutes...
In my experience, the R50 is your best play for that $750 budget. I've tested the 24.2MP sensor and the autofocus tracking is honestly insane for the price.
- Canon EOS R50 with RF-S 18-45mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM Kit is usually $600-700. It's very light.
- Canon EOS R10 with RF-S 18-45mm Lens Kit offers 15fps mechanical shutter but usually pushes $800. Check B&H Photo for holiday bundles.
Jumping in here... honestly, if you want the best tech for $750, check the Canon USA Refurbished site. Im very satisfied with their quality control; everything usually comes looking brand new and you save a ton. Since you're shooting a wedding, you need something with decent autofocus and a fast processor.
- Canon EOS R10 with RF-S 18-45mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM Lens Kit is often around $699 refurbished. It has a 24.2MP sensor and does 15fps mechanical shutter which beats the R50 for capturing movement.
- Canon EOS R50 with RF-S 18-45mm Lens Kit is usually under $600 refurbished, leaving money for a spare battery. The Dual Pixel CMOS AF II is really reliable for tracking faces during the walk down the aisle.
- Grab a SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO UHS-I SDXC card too. The DIGIC X processor in these handles low light noise well. Ive had no complaints with the R10 dual command dials, makes life way easier than menu diving.
Basically, the consensus here is a new R50 or a refurbished R10. @Reply #2 - good point on the refurbished store for savings. Just keep in mind the extra costs. You will need a high-speed SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-I Card to handle the data rates. Also, grab a spare Canon LP-E17 Lithium-Ion Battery Pack because mirrorless battery life is decent but wont last an entire wedding ceremony and reception.
