I've been rocking my old X-T2 since it basically came out and I love it but the autofocus is starting to drive me crazy now that I'm shooting more fast-moving stuff like my nephews soccer games and birds in the backyard. I'm finally ready to drop the cash on an upgrade for a big trip to Japan I have coming up in about three weeks so the clock is kinda ticking.
I've been staring at the X-T5 for months and it seems like the perfect fit for what I need but man the $1,700 price tag is just a bit over what I wanted to spend. I was really hoping to stay around $1,500 so I have enough left over for some extra batteries and maybe that 27mm pancake lens. Right now I'm torn between just biting the bullet on the X-T5, looking for a used X-H2 which I've seen for cheaper sometimes, or maybe just settling for a used X-T4 if I can find a mint one. The X-H2 is tempting for the better grip but I really prefer the retro dials on the T series.
Has anyone seen any legit deals or coupon codes lately? I checked BH and Adorama and they're all at full MSRP right now which sucks. Maybe there's an EDU discount I'm missing or a specific kit deal that makes more sense? Or should I just wait until closer to Memorial Day and hope for a flash sale...
Fuji is stingy with sales. In my experience, MSRP stays flat for ages on the Fujifilm X-T5 40.2MP Mirrorless. Definitely check the B&H EDU Advantage program if you have access to a student email; I've seen it hit $1530 there. Also, refresh the Fujifilm refurbished shop often. Ngl, the AF jump with the X-Processor 5 is massive, so dont settle for an older T4 if you want those birds in focus.
