sorry if this is a dumb question but are there any good mirrorless camera deals right now? im totally lost with all these tech specs. i just need something for a trip to japan next month and my max budget is like 700 bucks.
- under 800 dollars total
- easy for a total beginner to use
- good for street photos and food shots
what should i look at
In my experience, stretching the budget slightly for a Fujifilm X-T30 II 26.1MP Mirrorless Camera or looking at a used Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV 20.3MP Mirrorless Camera will serve you much better for Japan. Street photography and dark izakayas require reliable autofocus and great color science straight out of camera. Grab a prime lens later and you wont regret it.
@Reply #2 - good point! Fuji and Olympus colors are great for travel. I would suggest looking at the Canon EOS R50 24.2MP Mirrorless Camera instead if you want really snappy autofocus for street shots. Just make sure to check the lens mount limitations before buying. Dual pixel AF makes a massive difference in tight, dim food spots compared to older sensors.
man honestly mirrorless deals under 700 are kinda rough right now. i grabbed a Sony Alpha a6000 24.2MP Mirrorless Camera before my trip last year and unfortunately had focus hunting issues in dark ramen shops. not as good as expected for food shots tbh. here is what i would do instead:
- look for a used Fujifilm X-T20 24.3MP Mirrorless Camera
- check local marketplace deals you want something lightweight for japan streets.
