My old trusty full-frame finally bit the dust at a shoot last weekend, which is super annoying because the shutter count wasnt even that high yet. Im looking to jump into the mirrorless world since dragging a DSLR around is killing my back lately. I need something decent for street photography and maybe some light video work, hoping to keep it under 1500 bucks including a lens if possible. Ive checked the usual spots in the US but everything seems back at full MSRP right now. Has anyone spotted any actual sales or bundles dropping this week? Im really hoping to get back out shooting by next weekend if I can find a deal...
Check out the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV 20.3MP bundles if you want to save weight. It works well for street stuff and leaves plenty of cash for quality glass.
To add to the point above: be careful with those kit lenses if you are doing serious street work. I personally found the glass lacking for low light. You might want to consider grabbing the Canon EOS R10 Mirrorless 24.2MP body only and hunting for a used prime lens instead. It is way sharper and saves you cash. Just make sure to check the used market for a decent glass adapter so you dont waste your entire budget on a new lens.
Man, that sucks about the shutter. Honestly, mirrorless is gonna save your back for sure. Prices are kinda flat right now but check these bundles out:
- Sony Alpha a6400 APS-C Mirrorless Camera with the 16-50mm lens kit is usually right around 900 bucks.
- Fujifilm X-S10 Mirrorless Camera with a kit lens often pops up for under 1400. Keep an eye on used listings too, you can usually find way better glass for your budget that way.
