okay so my old tamron lens finally died on me last week right in the middle of a paid shoot which was an absolute nightmare and now I desperately need an upgrade before my next wedding gig on Dec 12th. ive been saving up and have around 800 bucks set aside for a nice prime lens and Im pretty much dead set on grabbing a Sigma 35mm f1.4 Art series because Ive rented it twice and the sharpness is just insane. with black friday right around the corner Im trying to figure out where the actual good discounts are gonna drop since I keep seeing different prices everywhere. right now Im torn between just using CamelCamelCamel to track the amazon listings, keeping an eye on B&H photo daily deals, or maybe signing up for one of those dedicated price alert newsletters like Greentoe where you make an offer. im located in chicago if that matters for shipping times and local store pickups like standard photo or whatever. has anyone here actually scored a solid deal on sigma glass during past holiday sales using one of these methods or is it all just overhyped marketing stuff where they jack up the price first and then slap a fake sale sticker on it? really dont wanna miss out and buy too early if prices are gonna plummet in two weeks so which of those sites should I actually trust with my money
> right now Im torn between just using CamelCamelCamel to track the amazon listings... Honestly just skip Amazon for glass and use Greentoe to make an offer on that Sigma 35mm f1.4 DG HSM Art lens, I saved over a hundred bucks doing that last year without any hassle.
