Im losing my mind trying to find a decent deal on a Canon R6 Mark II. I have a wedding coming up in early October and my old setup is just not gonna cut it for low light stuff. My budget is pretty firm at 2200 bucks for the body but everywhere I look online the prices are just hovering at MSRP or they look super sketchy. Like I was checking these weird grey market sites that have prices way lower but then I read horror stories about warranty issues and honestly I dont want to risk that much cash on something that might not be covered if it breaks.
So I was thinking about sticking to the big names like B&H or Adorama but they barely have any discounts running right now. My logic was that maybe there would be a summer sale or something but I guess I missed the boat? Ive been tracking Amazon but the price history graphs are just flat. I looked at the Canon refurbished store too and it seems like they are always out of stock on the good stuff.
Im currently torn between just biting the bullet on a new retail unit at full price from a big shop to have peace of mind or holding out another two weeks hoping for a Labor Day drop. I guess I could also try the MPB route for used gear but Im nervous about the condition since I really need this thing to be reliable for the wedding gig. If I buy used and it shows up with shutter issues I am totally screwed because I wont have time to swap it. Does anyone actually know where to get legit Canon discounts that arent just total scams? Has anyone had luck with the official refurbs actually restocking or am I just wasting my time hitting refresh on that page...

Personally, I would just bite the bullet and buy new from a major retailer. Peace of mind during a wedding is priceless, and that gear will last you ages!
