I really want to get into photography because my phone photos look so flat and I keep seeing these pretty fujifilm cameras online. I think they are called the x series? Honestly I have no idea what the difference is but they look vintage and cool.
Im planning a trip to Japan in three weeks and really want one to take with me but wow the prices are way higher than I thought. My budget is around 800 dollars which feels like a lot but maybe not for these. Sorry if this is a super basic question but does anyone know where the deals are at right now? Everything on amazon seems full price and I dont know which sites are safe...

They do tax-free shopping for tourists which saves a ton. But if you need it before the flight, look at the Fujifilm X-T2 24.3MP Mirrorless Digital Camera. It is an older model but built like a tank and has that vintage vibe you want. You could probably grab a used body and a Fujifilm XC 15-45mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS PZ Lens for under 800 if you check B&H Photo or Adorama used departments. The hype for the newer models has made prices skyrocket, so sticking to older pro bodies is the smart move for your budget. Just grab a few spare batteries tho... you are gonna need them for a whole day of sightseeing.
Tbh 800 bucks for a new Fujifilm is a tall order these days. Prices are kinda crazy. If you want something solid before your trip, check out MPB or KEH for used stuff. Theyre super reliable compared to random sellers. A Fujifilm X-T20 24.3MP Mirrorless Camera or a Fujifilm X-E3 24.3MP Mirrorless Camera usually fits that price range and takes amazing photos. Definitely beats phone shots for travel!
