ive been shooting with my fuji xt30 for about six months now mostly using the kit zoom lens which has been fine to learn on but im getting pretty frustrated with low light stuff and i really want that blurry background look for portraits of my dog and friends around the neighborhood. ive saved up around 300 bucks max since taxes hit me hard this month. right now im torn between the xc 35mm f2 cause its super cheap and light, the xf 35mm f2 cause metal build and weather sealing even though i mostly shoot on nice days, and honestly ive even been looking at some third party stuff like the ttartisan 27mm pancake just because it looks fun to carry around. my birthday trip to the coast is coming up in three weeks so i kinda need to decide soon. is the weather sealing on the more expensive fuji actually worth the extra cash over the plastic xc version if im mostly just walking around parks and cafes?
Skip the weather sealing if you're on a tight budget. Grab the Fujifilm XC 35mm f2 since it has identical optics to the metal version for way less cash.
