man I am so stoked, finally upgraded from my beat-up old dslr to a fujifilm x-s20 and its honestly a game changer... but now Im completely paralyzed by lens choices lol. So I was thinking okay, I just need one solid all-arounder to start with so I dont go broke immediately, my max budget is around 800 bucks for now since I want to take it on a two-week trip to Japan next month. I spent like three hours down a rabbit hole last night reading reviews, saw a ton of people swearing by the xf 18-55mm kit lens cause its cheap and small, but then others say the sigma 18-50mm f2.8 is way sharper and has constant aperture. My logic was go sigma cause low light right? But wait, does it lack the fuji colors or weather sealing or something? Plus I keep eyeing the 33mm f1.4 prime just cause bokeh looks amazing in photos, but I know a prime for a vacation where I might need wide angles and zoom is probably a terrible idea for a only-lens setup... ugh. What is the best all-around lens for Fujifilm X-S20 if youre me?
^ This. Also, congrats on the X-S20! Honestly just grab the Fujifilm XF 18-55mm f2.8-4 R LM OIS and dont look back. I took mine to Japan last year and it handled everything from rainy Tokyo alleyways to bright temples. The stabilization is a lifesaver for night shots without a tripod, and it leaves plenty of cash in your pocket for amazing food over there!

Congrats on the upgrade! Honestly id skip the sigma for travel, had issues with mount play on mine and no aperture ring is super annoying on fuji bodies.
- Fujifilm XF 18-55mm f2.8-4 R LM OIS
- Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 DC DN Grab the Fujifilm XF 35mm f1.4 R instead if you want that magical look without breaking the bank. Weather sealing isnt worth much when the lens feels fragile anyway.
