What is the best all-around lens for Fujifilm X-T5 photography?

So I finally pulled the trigger on the X-T5 after staring at it for months and honestly I'm a bit overwhelmed with the lens options. I'm taking this thing on a trip to Kyoto in about three weeks and I really want just one lens that can stay on the camera like 90% of the time. I hate carrying a big bag of gear and swapping stuff out while I'm walking around in the rain or crowded streets.

I did some digging online and everyone keeps pointing at the 16-80mm f4 because of the range but then I see these forums where people say it's not sharp enough for the new 40 megapixel sensor. Like what's the point of the high res body if the lens is mushy right? Then there's the 18-55mm which is a classic but maybe the 18mm isnt wide enough for architecture. My budget is around 800 bucks and I could go slightly higher if it's really worth it.

Is the 16-55mm f2.8 actually worth the extra weight or am I gonna regret lugging that brick around all day? I just want something that handles everything from street shots to the occasional landscape without being a total pain. What are you guys actually using on your T5 for daily stuff?
