Look I am honestly so fed up with this 18-55mm kit lens on my X-T5 like it was fine on my old camera but with the 40 megapixels everything just looks soft and kind of mushy when I crop in even a little bit. Its driving me crazy because I spent all this money on the body and the glass is just holding it back so much and I feel like I am wasting the sensor. I'm actually really excited though because I finally saved up about $1200 to get a proper replacement before my big hiking trip to the Isle of Skye in three weeks but I am totally paralyzed by all the choices out there and keep second guessing every review I read.
Do I go for the 16-80mm for the extra reach or is that gonna be just as soft as what I have now?? People say the 16-55mm f2.8 is the gold standard for sharpness but its so heavy and has no stabilization which scares me for handheld landscape shots when I am tired. Then there is that Sigma 18-50 which is tiny but I dont know if it feels too cheap for a pro body or if the Tamron 17-70 is better even though its huge. I just want one lens that stays on my camera 90% of the time and actually takes advantage of that high res sensor without making my photos look like a blurry mess. What is the actual best all-around zoom lens for the X-T5?
Unfortunately the Fujifilm XF 16-80mm f4 R OIS WR was super disappointing and soft. Just play it safe and get the Fujifilm XF 16-55mm f2.8 R LM WR so you dont ruin your photos.
